May 2006 - Tokyo & Europe

Greetings from the other side of the world. I spent all of yesterday travelling so I will not bore you with all the details. Today I arrived at Nice Airport at around 10am and hired a car to drive myself out to the Four Seasons Resort at Terre Blanche. It was a shame I was on a highway and couldn’t pull up because everywhere I turned there was something to see and something I was dying to photograph. It is the same at the resort too, I can see the beautiful mountains with their little towns scattered along their green face. The plan was to go out and have a look at a few of the little towns, after travelling all day yesterday and the pull of the resort itself to stay I satisfied myself with a delicious Tomato, Mozzarella, Basil salad and a glass of Rosé inhouse. I am currently trying to decide whether I head out now for some site seeing or just kick back and have a relaxing evening….

There is one other thing that made me stay in the Hotel this afternoon. The infinity pool is about 25m or more overlooking the mountains and towns. The pool is higher up than my room so the view is even better! So I could hardly waste a bright sunny day now could I? I had to take advantage of both the sun and the pool.

So I decided to head out for a little bit and venture to own of the towns, Fayence. Quite nice, smaller than it looks from the Hotel. Almost got lost on the way back to the Hotel, thought I needed to turn right when in fact it should have been left. Ah well. All in a day's adventure. I much prefer the autoroutes though. The streets are narrow and twisty and I tend to slow down on the normal roads and get a couple of impatient cars on my rear.

With tomorrow being my one and only full day down here in Provence I am going to have to try and make the most of it. So stay tuned for the next update!
